Day 4 Boxing Day, Burford & Blenheim Palace
After breakfast, we head to the picturesque village of Burford, often described as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds'. You'll have free time to admire its medieval bridge and handsome Tudor and Georgian frontages.
Next we're going to Blenheim Palace, an impressive country house situated on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Woodstock. A fine example of Baroque architecture, it is the home of the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family and was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. You are free to go inside the palace and explore the state rooms at leisure, and outside there are more than 2,000 acres of landscaped parkland and formal gardens to discover, and a choice of cafés to get spot of lunch here if you wish.
At Christmas, Blenheim Palace is transformed into an even more magical place where fairy-tale meets fantasy. Each year a story is exquisitely brought to life, with each room decorated to depict a different scene.
This evening we'll gather at the hotel and enjoy dinner together.
