Day 3 New Year's Day, Stratford-upon-Avon
After a leisurely breakfast today, we join a local guide for a walk into town to learn about the history of William Shakespeare’s life and works. Stratford-upon-Avon is steeped in the history of Shakespeare with many locations in the town related to his and his family's life. These are preserved as Britain's national heritage and visited by millions of people every year in a bid to celebrate his life and work. See Shakespeare's New Place, where he lived towards the end of his life; upon his death, New Place became the home of his daughter, Susanna Hall. Enjoy the beautiful architecture of the Guild Chapel and Guildhall, where Shakespeare is said to have attended school. Pass Hall's Croft, the original home of his daughter, on your way to Holy Trinity Church; the final resting place of William Shakespeare and his wife Anne Hathaway. Finally, enjoy the scenery as you walk along the River Avon.
After a packed day we will make our way back to the hotel for a farewell dinner.
